Embrace the Suck

embrace the suckThere are times in our lives when things just plain suck. Maybe you lost your keys or your dog ran away. There is no doubt about it; it sucks. There is one way to deal with these situations. Embrace the Suck.

Embrace the Suck

In survival situations, military training and other physically challenging scenarios, you will have to live with the suck and push past it.

Drill sergeants, in the military, have perfected the art of making any situation extremely tough. This ensures that the recruits in under their tutelage will feel the suck. This is a very effective method of training and should be applied to your survival training as well.

Change Your Mindset

Let’s say that you plan on “roughing it” in the forest, this weekend. You have already set it in your mind, that the weekend is going to suck, because you won’t have all the comforts of home.

This is a dangerous mindset. If you are already thinking of all the things you won’t have, you are already dreading your weekend outing.

If you are in a survival situation, the last thing you need is a negative mindset.

Do not dwell on the fact you do not have your down comforter.

Instead, be happy that you have a blanket and a nylon tarp for shelter.

Transform Weaknesses Into Strengths

Nobody is perfect. It’s not possible.

Everyone has some weaknesses.

Your family and friends, who have been included in your prepping or survival plan, will have strengths and weaknesses. You will want to find ways to capitalize on this.

Keep Your Chin Up

When things get tough, you have to keep going. Don’t give up!

One of the common factors in all survival stories is the person’s mindset. They refused to give up. No matter how much adversity comes your way, you have to embrace it and keep going. This is something we should apply to our daily lives?

When you have those days where everything goes wrong, you have to keep trudging on.
