  1. also check the Sawyer water filter, it attaches directly to many of the “standard” water bottle threads, and filters up to 1,000,000 gallons of water according to the manufacturer… http://amzn.to/1DKIfX3 but unlike the Life Straw you don’t have to get down close to any “suspect” water which could contain more than just waterborne pollutants or toxic substances, you can fill up the mylar bag that comes with the filter and filter that water into your canteen, water bottle, or bucket.
